If you are looking for tasteful accommodation, scenic views, and a relaxed informal setting come to Cedarwood Resort in Muskoka! We think you will enjoy our treasure in Muskoka as much as our family does.
The original resort was built in the 1930’s as a post-depression project under the name Lakeland Lodge. At that time the resort included rooms, tiny cottages, a lodge with dining room and a retail store.
The old lodge and all of the white road side cottages were torn down in the late 1980’s while under new ownership and the name was changed to Cedarwood of Muskoka. At that time is was open year round catering to snowmobilers in the winter and seasonal guests and contractors during the other 3 seasons.
In 1994 our family moved here and managed it for one year purchasing it in summer of 1995. At that time we changed the name to Cedarwood on Lake Muskoka to clearly indicate a picturesque lake front property. It has been run as a summer resort since then.
In 1998 the last two old cottages were torn down and replaced a year later with two 4-season, 3 bedroom cottages. Done in pine inside and out with cathedral ceilings they are spacious, open concept design.
Cedarwood Resort offers a pleasant alternative; we draw the tourist who seeks quality in a relaxed atmosphere away from large groups and organized activities when looking for a Muskoka getaway.
With Cedarwood being centrally located in the heart of Muskoka we are very close to Bracebridge and Port Carling, only a few minutes from Gravenhurst, Bala and Rosseau. This provides many of options for both casual and fine dining, loads of shopping, unique art galleries and world-class golf.
